JULY
Jason Drass
July 18-19
Discovery, Groundwork, Mounted Work, Focus Sessions
Silver Brook Stables is excited to host a two-day horsemanship clinic with Jason Drass, designed to help riders improve communication, understanding, and overall partnership with their horses.
Jason’s approach is rooted in discovery-based learning, blending groundwork, mounted group sessions, theory, and semi-private focus sessions. Rather than addressing surface-level symptoms, Jason works with riders to understand the why behind their horse’s behavior and develop practical skills that carry over into everyday riding.
This clinic supports both fundamental development and advancement, making it valuable for riders at all stages.
Who Should Attend
- Riders of all disciplines and experience levels
- Those wanting deeper understanding, not just techniques
- Riders seeking practical, take-home tools
- Anyone interested in thoughtful, supportive horsemanship instruction
Day 1 (July 18th):
- Focuses on groundwork in the morning, followed by mounted group work. Riders will begin exploring foundational concepts that support communication, balance, and responsiveness in the saddle.
Day 2 (July 19th):
- Begins with a 2.5–3 hour mounted group Discovery session, continuing the theory and learning introduced on day one. After lunch, riders will participate in semi-private Focus Sessions, working in pairs for one-hour sessions with Jason. These sessions allow riders to address specific goals, challenges, maneuvers, or skill development.
- Riders are encouraged to observe all Focus Sessions, as there is valuable learning to be gained by watching others work through different scenarios.
Please note: Riders must be available for the entire day on Sunday. Pairings and Focus Session time slots are determined after the morning group session, based on Jason’s assessment of each horse and rider.
